The Arizona Cardinals host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday in the first NFC West division matchup of the 2014 season.  The Niners have won nine of the last 10 meetings between the teams, including both games last year 32-20 in San Francisco and 23-20 in Arizona.  The last Arizona victory was 21-19 in December 2011 in Glendale.

What: San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals

When: Sunday September 21, 2014 1:05 PT

TV/Radio: FOX (Thom Brennaman, David Diehl, Laura Okmin), Arizona Sports 98.7 FM (Dave Pasch, Ron Wolfley, Paul Calvisi), SiriusXM Radio 232 or SiriusXM Internet 800 (Cardinals feed), SiriusXM Internet 827 (Niners feed)

Key Injuries:

Arizona – Quarterback Carson Palmer is out.  Drew Stanton will start.  Linebacker John Abraham was placed on season-ending injured reserve on Friday.

San Francisco – Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has a back injury but is expected to play.  Tight end Vernon Davis has ankle and knee injuries that have him questionable for Sunday’s game.  Only center Marcus Martin has been ruled out.

This one is a tough one to predict.  If everyone was healthy on both sides I’d say this would be a great game that could come down right to the end like it did last December.  Unfortunately with the injuries known on the Cards side and the unknown status of a couple of guys on the Niners side this really could still go either way but I believe a tougher call to predict.  Since the game is in Arizona, with the crowd behind them, I’ll give the Cards the slight edge to finally beat the Niners.  Arizona 23 San Francisco 20.
