When the Arizona Cardinals drafted receiver John Brown from Pittsburg State (Kansas) it is safe to say not many knew who he was.  The Cardinals sure knew then and they certainly know more now.  You know who else knows now?  The San Francisco 49ers after getting beat by Brown for two touchdowns in the Cards 23-14 victory Sunday afternoon in Glendale.

"“No one knows me, [My teammates] know that once I get the ball, I can do things.”"

That was Brown after the game today when asked about his performance.  Did things he sure showed us.  However according to coach Bruce Arians he had not run a route correctly that cost a chance at a touchdown and got in trouble for it.  He said he learned quickly from the mistake and was able to make those plays later.

Brown had four catches for 52 yards and the two touchdowns on Sunday.  He now has three touchdowns on the season.  He scored a touchdown in week one against the San Diego Chargers.

Other teams and people not familiar with him yet will find out quickly just what this kid can do.  Coming from a NCAA Division II school didn’t help that cause either.  Pittsburg State was so obscure that I was even told that back in training camp I had spelled Pittsburg incorrectly by someone within this network I write for.  I assured him I hadn’t.

Brown is number three on the receiver depth chart but I guarantee the Cards don’t view him as a three.  That’s the beauty of this offense.  The Cards have three or four guys that can produce like what Brown did today.  It’s going to be a fun ride the rest of the season.
