Arizona Cardinals-Washington Redskins Game Balls

Tough tough call to make in regards to game balls for Sunday’s 30-20 Arizona Cardinals victory over the Washington Redskins.  There are so many players that could grab the honors.  So after careful review, here are the three guys that get the award.

Offense: Larry Fitzgerald – Fitz was just playing out of his mind.  He grabbed six passes for 98 yards and scored his first touchdown of the season.  He caught it at the 10-yard line and it was all him after that breaking tackles to cross the goal line.  He caught all six of his targeted passes.

My apologies to: Carson Palmer who returned to action after missing the last three games with a nerve injury in his shoulder.  He did great.  He didn’t turn it over, going 28-44-250 yards and two touchdowns.

Defense: Rashad Johnson – Johnson had two interceptions in the game, including the one that sealed the deal with 18 seconds left when he took a Kirk Cousins pass and ran it back into the end zone for six points.  He also recorded a team-high eight tackles.

My apologies to: Jerraud Powers – Powers has been the most consistent corner for the Cards.  He had an interception, to tack on to the interception of Peyton Manning last week in Denver.

Special Teams: Chandler Catanzaro – I say it again, how money is he?  With the Cards inconsistent ability to get the ball in the end zone, ‘Cat Man’ has been a valuable piece of the puzzle.  His three field goals put him at 14-14 on the season.  Can’t be much better than perfect.
