Arizona Cardinals-Oakland Raiders: Three Things To Watch

There are number of storylines to the Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders matchup this Sunday but here are the top three things to be on the watch for

Even though you have a 4-1 Cards team taking on an 0-5 Raiders squad this Sunday, there are still plenty of intrigue and things to be on the look out for.  As should come as no surprise one of those things are the quarterbacks.

More from Cardinals News

1. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr per Arizonasports.com indicated that although he respects Cards corner Patrick Peterson, he isn’t going to be afraid to throw his way.  I couldn’t agree with him more.  Carr has not stayed away from other top corners in the league so far in his short NFL career so why start now with Peterson, especially with his current struggles.

Carr has thrown eight touchdowns against just five interceptions so far this season.  He threw the ball well against the New England Patriots in a close 16-9 loss in week three.  He also played very well against the San Diego Chargers last week in a 31-28 loss.  Carr could end up being very special.

2. Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is returning to face his former team.  He hasn’t made a huge deal about it and he shouldn’t.  He didn’t have that much success there though he didn’t play that bad.  In two seasons he threw 35 touchdowns and 30 interceptions for 6,771 yards.

3. The bigger question should be how much does Cards offensive lineman Jared Veldheer want to prove the Raiders wrong in his return?  Many in Raiders circles and Cards circles alike were surprised when Oakland made little attempt to sign him to a contract and let him go to the Cards in free agency.  He has been a great addition to the Cards offensive line so far.
