The inactives have been released for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Arizona Cardinals

The inactives have been released for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Arizona Cardinals ahead of today’s 2:05 p.m. game in Glendale.  The big name for the Cardinals of course is running back Andre Ellington who is out and could be for awhile.

The best news of the day though is linebacker Matt Shaughnessy is back and so is receiver Larry Fitzgerald.  The Cardinals will also be without safety Tyrann Mathieu, who had thumb surgery this past week.  He will miss at least two games.

Cardinals inactives: RB Andre Ellington, LB Alameda Ta’amu, S Tyrann Mathieu, G Anthony Steen, DT Ed Stinson, DE Kareem Martin, G Paul Fanaika

Chiefs inactives: QB Aaron Murray, CB Jamell Fleming, C Eric Kush, G Laurent Durvernay-Tardif, TE Richard Gordon, WR Junior Hemingway, DE Allen Bailey

The Cards will miss Ellington and Mathieu no doubt but getting Fitz and Shaughnessy back as to take some of the sting out out of that.  Fitz has missed the last two weeks with a knee injury.  Quarterback Drew Stanton will need him big time on Sunday.

As for Shaughnessy.  He’s had to miss the last eight weeks.  He was injured way back at the beginning of October.  He returned to practice two weeks ago, so hopefully he is ready to go against the Kansas City offense.

The Cards will also be short handed on the offensive line with Paul Fanaika being out.  Johnathan Cooper gets his first NFL start at guard ahead of the struggling Ted Larsen.
