The Arizona Cardinals saw most of their players reach the practice field on Wednesday

The Arizona Cardinals took to the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for their Sunday Night Football contest against the Seattle Seahawks at University of Phoenix Stadium.  Only two players, quarterback Drew Stanton and receiver Jaron Brown did not practice.

It was no surprise that Stanton did not practice.  As for Brown, he was seen throwing a football around on the sidelines during the open portion of practice but he officially did not practice.  He was dressed out though as if he was going to though according to Darren Urban of ArizonaCardinals.com.

There were some other players who were limited in practice on Wednesday though.  They included linebacker Lorenzo Alexander, defensive end Calais Campbell, guard Paul Fanaika, receiver Larry Fitzgerald, linebacker Larry Foote, safety Tyrann Mathieu, and running back Kerwynn Williams.  THere is no word on their status for the game Sunday night.

As for Stanton, he did tell Urban that he’s never had this type of injury before so he isn’t sure how it will react day to day.  Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians, if you ask him. he still believes there is a chance Stanton plays on Sunday Night.  Seriously.

I don’t know what his tone was when he answered that question but does he really believe Stanton has a shot or is it just a bit of gamesmanship?  I have to think it is the latter.  I just can’t see Stanton playing until the weekend of January 10-11 at the earliest from everything I hear about his injury.
