Arizona Cardinals: Drew Stanton Officially Doubtful For Seahawks

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton is still a game-time decision against the Seattle Seahawks

Arizona Cardinals Drew Stanton did not participate in Friday’s practice after being limited on Thursday.  This still has not completely ruled him out for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks though.

Although Stanton is officially listed as doubtful to play Sunday night, he is still a gametime decision according to head coach Bruce Arians.  So you’re saying there is still a chance?  Well he is however there is a but in there.

If Stanton is active for Sunday night’s game, he will not start.  He would be the number two guy behind Ryan Lindley.  That makes sense as Stanton only had limited practice one day this week and the game plan has been prepped for Lindley.  There is also a package of plays put together for rookie quarterback Logan Thomas.

I would not be surprised to see all three quarterbacks active if Stanton is active.  As hard hitting as this one is expected to be, it is a smart move to keep them as many quarterbacks active as possible.

A lot has been made of Lindley’s lack of touchdown passes in his career.  That would be zero but he has not started a game either since 2012.  This is not 2012.  This is a different team.  I’m not saying that will equal success for Lindley but I wouldn’t worry about what he did or didn’t do on a completely different team.  If I were a betting man though, I’d say Stanton will end up being inactive and Thomas will play backup to Lindley.
