These five things the Arizona Cardinals can say goodbye to on National Kissing Day

To commemorate National Kissing Day today, here is a list of five things the Arizona Cardinals can kiss goodbye in 2015.  After a winning season but a difficult end to the 2014 season it is time to usher in the new and say goodbye to the past.

The 11-5 record the Cardinals had last season is certainly an accomplishment, especially given it was the best record the Cardinals have had since moving to the desert in 1988, but there are a number of things that happened that we would like to just kiss goodbye.

Kiss goodbye to:

– Ryan Lindley.  Sorry Lindley fans (and I know you are still out there) but Lindley is not an NFL quarterback.  Period.  He is a really nice guy.  He is a God fearing man.  Very pleasant demeanor.  Not an NFL quarterback.  My gut feeling is his playoff off start against the Carolina Panthers will be the last time we see him in an NFL game.

– Bad health.  Every time we turned around last season someone was getting hurt.  It all started in the preseason with Darnell Dockett’s torn ACL and ended with Drew Stanton’s injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season after week 15.  Quarterback Carson Palmer is back 100 percent.  So is running back Andre Ellington.  Game on.

– Basic losing to the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks.  Sure the Cardinals split with the 49ers last season but they came up short in the season ending game against them, again.  They managed a split with the Seahawks in 2013 but they were swept in 2014.  A win or two over the Seahawks last season would have given the Cardinals the NFC West title instead of a Wild-Card spot in the playoffs.  I believe the Cardinals will sweep the 49ers this year and gain at least a split with the Seahawks.

– Rob Housler.  The only word that comes to mind is bust.  I don’t use that term lightly and I like to give players multiple chances and years before I get to that point.  He scored exactly one touchdown for the Arizona Cardinals in his four seasons with the franchise.  He has now moved on to the Cleveland Browns.  I wish him luck.

– Logan Thomas.  Yes, I realize he is still on the roster.  He is trending though towards not being on the roster after the final preseason game on Thursday September 3rd.  Coach Bruce Arians said last week he has no idea what Thomas is doing out there sometimes.  He is considered a work in progress but based on what we heard from Arians, it sounds more like just work, no progress is being made.
