Player profile of TE Ted Bolser as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st

As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player.  I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.

We go from A to Z and continue with tight end Ted Bolser.  This is his first camp with the Cardinals.

Bolser is a one year veteran from Indiana University.  He has spent time with the Washington Redskins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

2014 season: Bolser spent most of the 2014 training camp with the Redskins as their seventh-round draft pick before being cut just before the start of the season.  He was also on the Bucs practice squad for much of November last season.

2015 season projection: We all know the lack of depth and experience that is currently an issue at the tight end position.  Bolser doesn’t really figure to be part of that mix in the end though given the other guys surrounding him for a job.  He could be one of the first guys cut at the position if the Cardinals are able to secure the services of a much-needed veteran at tight end.  He is the all-time leader in receptions by a tight end with 117 at Indiana to go along with 15 touchdowns, so the guy does know how to play.

At tight end I won’t count anyone out though.  If he was impressive enough to land a futures contract in December and is still around after the offseason OTA’s and camps, that is saying something.  Keep your eye on number 81.
