Player profile of ILB Andrae Kirk as Arizona Cardinals training camp starts July 31st

As we prepare for Arizona Cardinals training camp reporting date of July 31st, it is time for our annual look at the roster player by player.  I look at what they’ve done, where they are now and how I project each player’s status at the end of camp.

We go from A to Z and continue with ILB Andrae Kirk.  Kirk is an undrafted rookie out of Florida Atlantic University.

2014 season: Kirk had 103 tackles for the Florida Atlantic Owls last season, including two sacks.  His 103 tackles were third in Conference USA in 2014.  He also had a forced fumble and two interceptions.

2015 season projection: Kirk will clearly start at the bottom of the depth chart but his numbers show he can play.  He had 344 tackles in four seasons at Florida Atlantic.  The problem he faces is what many will face in Cardinals Camp.  Its all a numbers game.  Unless someone goes down, I can’t see how Kirk makes the team.  I will be interested to see what he does in preseason though.

Kirk has Glenn Carson, Daryl Sharpton, and Kevin Minter in front of him.  They all have something to prove to the team and fans as well, so maybe him climbing the depth chart isn’t that far fetched.  However it will still be a major battle.  It’s make or break time for Minter and the Cards brought Sharpton in during free agency.  Kirk was first-team All-Conference USA though, so he’s not going to be a pushover.
