The Arizona Cardinals training camp comes to end on Friday at University of Phoenix Stadium

The official end to the Arizona Cardinals training camp arrives on Friday morning in Glendale.  That doesn’t mean practices won’t happen next week but the venue moves to Tempe to finish out the last week of the preseason.  Friday’s practice is from 9:30-11:45, which is earlier than usual.

The Cardinals will be off on Saturday in order to travel to face the Oakland Raiders on Sunday Night Football.  After that the team will have one more preseason game next Thursday against the Denver Broncos.

What did we learn in Cards camp 2015?

I think the biggest takeaway from this year’s camp is that many players found time to have an injury, many of them hamstrings.  There was one day where about 20 players did not practice because of numerous ailments.

What hasn’t been decided yet?

Mostly everything.  We know who the starting quarterback and the kicker is but that is about as far as it goes.  We don’t know who the third quarterback is yet and even if their will be a third quarterback.  We don’t know about the running back situation totally.  We don’t know about the receiver core and the tight ends are unresolved.

Lost for the season:

The Cardinals lost just one player for the season in camp.  One is one more than you want but only defensive tackle Corey Peters will miss the season at this point.  Guard Mike Iupati is out until sometime in late September to mid-October.  Receiver Michael Floyd could still return opening day or may not return until October.  That is still unknown.

Patience running thin:

Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon.  He came in as a guy that was expected to immediately make an impact but so far he has come in the same way he left the Atlanta Falcons, injured.  Head coach Bruce Arians mentioned the other day that his patience was running thin.  He was expected back earlier this week but that keeps getting pushed back.
