Arizona Cardinals: Updated projected first cuts

The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Oakland Raiders 30-23 on Sunday night with first cuts due by Tuesday

The Arizona Cardinals, along with the rest of the NFL, must make their first round of cuts to the 75-man limit by Tuesday afternoon.  Some teams have already started making those moves.  The Cardinals just completed their week three preseason game less than an hour ago, so their will probably come sometime during the day Monday or Tuesday morning.

Looking back at the initial projected first cut list I complied last week, it appears I was spot on with at least a couple of the players I listed.  Sunday night’s performances made sure of that.

Here is my list from last Sunday August 23rd:

CB Jonte Green, G Jon Halapio, WR Trevor Harman, WR Travis Harvey, G Nate Isles, G Antonie McClain, CB C.J. Roberts, TE Gannon Sinclair, S Anthony Walters, CB Shaquille Richardson, WR Ryan Spadola, S Ross Weaver, CB Darren Woodard

Here is my updated projected cuts:

Well, Ross Weaver beat them all by being cut on Saturday.  However the others made sure they did themselves in on Sunday night.  Cornerback C.J. Roberts did not play well Sunday night.  He was beaten badly on a couple of plays, including the game-tying touchdown by the Raiders with just over two minutes left in Sunday night’s game.  Also guard Jon Halapio was beaten badly by the Raiders defensive line in the fourth quarter.   I think Cariel Brooks certainly looks better than Jonte Green him right now.

CB Jonte Green, G Jon Halapio, WR Trevor Harman, WR Travis Harvey, G Nate Isles, G Antonie McClain, CB C.J. Roberts, TE Gannon Sinclair, S Anthony Walters, CB Shaquille Richardson, WR Ryan Spadola, S Ross Weaver, CB Darren Woodard

Out of those players I think only maybe Woodard might have taken himself off this list.  He had three tackles and a pass defensed on Sunday night.  is that enough to at least deserve a shot to stay until after the fourth preseason game?  Maybe a Harold Jones-Quartey or tackle Rob Crisp?  We shall see.
