Phoenix Police officer David Glasser lost his life early Thursday after being shot

It is interesting how a loss of words and be translated into a few hundred about a police officer losing his or her life.  I am doing just that today for officer David Glasser of the Phoenix Police Department.

On Wednesday afternoon he was shot by a suspect that was killed in the shootout with police.  I am not writing about that event though.  I am here to tell you by all accounts he was a huge Arizona Cardinals fan.

While I did not know Glasser personally, I know people that did.  He was at all the tailgates at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The loss also hit the team itself.  Head coach Bruce Arians had something to say about Glasser.

Arians was joined by tweets from the team and receiver Larry Fitzgerald as well.  No one in this city is immune to feeling the loss today.

It is a sad day for Cardinals fans.  It is a sad day for the City of Phoenix but it is most of all sad for his family.  Glasser, 35, leaves behind a wife and two children.  That sort of news just hits home hard.  If you can donate, please donate to the 100 Club of Arizona for public safety officers and firefighters.  You can also text your donation to the 100 Club at 41444.

R.I.P. Officer David Glasser.  Thank you for your service.
