The Arizona Cardinals have a mini-camp remaining before training camp in July

We continue our annual look at player by player from A to Z on the current Arizona Cardinals roster as we are now in the final part of the offseason schedule with a three-day mini-camp this week that starter Tuesday at team headquarters in Tempe.  The next stop is training camp on July 28th.

In this profile we look at center Taylor Boggs.  Boggs is a fifth-year player out of Humboldt State.

2015: Boggs spent time with the Detroit Lions last season.  He was on the team when they lost to the Cardinals 42-17 in Detroit last season.

2016 outlook: While it can be easy to say with just three guys on the roster officially listed at center, Boggs likely does not make the Cardinals roster this season.  He could push the guys in front of him though.

The thing Boggs has going for him is experience.  He has been a journeyman of sorts since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent signed by the New York Jets after the 2011 NFL Draft.

Between the Lions and Jets was also a brief stop with the Chicago Bears.  The Cardinals signed him to a futures contract back in January.

The big question though is what kind of future does Boggs have here?  Likely not much but sure there’s always a chance he can push for a backup role, otherwise he wouldn’t be here.

Boggs is the same height at 6-3 as rookie Evan Boehm and a couple of inches taller than A.Q. Shipley at 6-1.  He is the lightest center on the roster though at 302 lbs, although not by much with Boehm at 310 and Shipley at 307.
