Wide receiver John Brown had a decent fantasy season last year and is poised to see his stock drastically increase in 2016.

If you’re an avid fantasy football player like me you’re always looking for an early scoop to give yourself the edge come draft time. One such player that could be the next big thing in fantasy is wide receiver John Brown.

Adam Rank of NFL.com lists his 16 bold fantasy predictions of the 2016 season. One of his predictions is that he thinks John Brown could quite possibly be a top 10 fantasy receiver.

"John Brown is going to flirt with the top-10 in fantasy this year.Fine, I’ll say it. He’s going to take top-10 honors home with him."

Brown prospered last season with the return of quarterback Carson Palmer. In 15 games, Brown caught 65 passes for 1003 yards (which is the first 1000 yard receiving season of his career, so far) and finished with 7 touchdown catches.

While the Cardinals have 2 other big name wide receivers on the roster named Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald, there are plenty of reason to go with John Brown over both of these players.

Fitzgerald started off the season hot and cooled off considerably towards the end of the season catching only 2 touchdowns in the team’s last 8 games. This pattern will probably occur next season and teams will look to shut down Fitzgerald.

Floyd has shown to be inconsistent, going from periods of being hot to being cold. With the team’s lack of a pass catching tight end and with Brown as a down field threat, there will be plenty of deep routes drawn up specifically for Smokey.

Defenses will primarily be focused on stopping Fitzgerald, Floyd and David Johnson and may often, to their misfortune, leave Brown as an afterthought. Brown will prove to be a difficult match up for opposing corners and should be one of your go to targets come draft time.
