Actor and professional  wrestler, The Rock, wishes he could have played for the Arizona Cardinals head coach.

Before he was the face of the WWE and a box office superstar, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was the starting defensive tackle on the Miami Hurricanes team that won the national championship in 1991. After a short stint in the Canadian Football League, The Rock hung up his cleats in favor of wrestling boots and the rest is history.

However, if given the chance to return to the gridiron, there seems to be no doubt as to what team the former WWE Champion would sign with.

Johnson seems to love everything about Coach Arians. Even the time Arians cut a player for parking in his parking spot had him smitten.

It seems unlikely that the Cardinals will be calling up Johnson’s agent anytime soon. While the pass rush at a time was in need of improved, the recent additions of Chandler Jones and Robert Nkemdiche has turned the Cardinals front seven into a formidable one.

While a tremendous athlete, the wrestler turned actor left much to be desired production wise on the football field. In four seasons as a Hurricane, Johnson totaled 78 sacks, along with 4.25 sacks. The most famous of his sacks coming against former Heisman Trophy winner and NBA player, Charlie Ward.

To be fair, Johnson was competing with future Hall of Famer Warren Sapp for playing time.

While Steve Keim and Bruce Arians won’t be bringing in Johnson for a tryout, we may see him on the sidelines as the Cardinals guest of honor. For now, he’ll have to stick to watching the two time Coach of the Year winner on TV like the rest of us.
