The Arizona Cardinals are looking for their next great inside linebacker

When the Arizona Cardinals brought in inside linebacker Sio Moore during the 2016 season at first it seemed like just another signing to add a body.  The team was losing players left and right.

However Moore came in and was a beast.  He played a lot better than I ever expected him to.  Now he is a free agent.

The Cardinals are reportedly looking for an inside linebacker in the draft.  Maybe free agency is the way to go here?  As in one of their own free agents.

Moore was relatively inexpensive at $760,000 last season.  He should be given consideration for a return.

In four games last season, three of which he started, Moore had 35 tackles.  That’s almost nine tackles per game.  Like I said, he was a beast.

He had one pass defensed and two forced fumbles.  I like a guy in the middle that is active and keeping his hands moving.

Although his name hasn’t been mentioned much since the season ended the Cardinals would be wise to continue to offer employment to the four-year player.  Moore is already onto his fourth NFL team.

He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, 66th pick overall. After Oakland traded him to the Indianapolis Colts in September 2015.  He lasted in a Colts uniform for about 13 months before being released last October.

Then the Kansas City Chiefs brought him in. He was there less than a month.  Enter the Cardinals. He spent the last month of the season with them.

Now the Cardinals should seriously consider giving him a make good contract.  It doesn’t have to be a long-term deal.  Just long enough to see what he can do.  They may find out they found a keeper.
