The Arizona Cardinals, and their fans, are hoping for the best in the 2017 season

The 2016 did not go as planned for the Arizona Cardinals. Injuries, poorly timed bad plays, and down seasons from key players combined to sink the season. This was a major disappointment to fans, who were expecting a deep playoff run.

The Cardinals finished the season at 7-8-1, and missed the playoffs for the first time in three years. It was their first time finishing under .500 in four years.

Expectations for the 2017 season are tempered somewhat, but there’s still a buzz. Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald are back, and everyone is healthy. Some key players left via free agency, but others were signed and drafted. Cautious optimism has begun to seep into the fanbase.

Last week, RaisingZona’s Scott Allen took an excellent look at the 2017 schedule, realistically projecting wins and losses. It’s a difficult schedule, opening up on the road for two weeks, and games against a potentially tough NFC East.

Still, the Cardinals have plenty to be positive about going into this season. Here is another look at the 2017 schedule, through the eyes of an optimistic superfan.
