The Arizona Cardinals return to the practice field on Tuesday

The Arizona Cardinals made it through unscathed for the most part in the first round of OTA’s last week at their headquarters in Tempe.  Now, it is time for round two.

The Cardinals will hold OTA’s at their headquarters once again this week.  OTA’s will take place Tuesday through Thursday before the long holiday weekend.

The biggest news to come out of camp last week was that linebacker Deone Bucannon had surgery that could have him not only miss all of training camp but the beginning of the 2017 regular season as well.  Only time will tell there.

As for the rest of the team, they are just learning how to play with each other.  There are a lot of new faces on both sides of the ball.

There are also some familiar faces returning.  One of them is linebacker Karlos Dansby.  He is back for his third tour of duty with the team.

Dansby figures to help out the younger guys.  I would not expect Dansby to play more than another year or two with the team before hanging it up.

Now is not the time for heroes.  The Cardinals hopefully will come out of OTA’s relatively healthy. They have another round next week before a full team mini-camp in a couple of weeks.

After all that, the team will break until training camp.  Dates haven’t been announced yet for camp but would expect that to come along within the next few weeks.

Expect the Cardinals to continue to move pieces on and off the roster as they try to find what will accompany them to training camp in Glendale in July.  The battles to watch will continue to be at cornerback on the defensive side of the ball and receiver on the offensive side.
