The Arizona Cardinals have a lot of bodies fighting for receiving spots in training camp

Some don’t believe in what the Arizona Cardinals are selling at receiver this season.  Looking at the current roster from top to bottom at the position, it shouldn’t be a tough sell at all.

The Cardinals have 13 receivers on the roster.  Of those, 10 have a legitimate shot at making the roster.  We all know of course the Cardinals like will not keep more than six.

With the need great at other positions, it would be tough to get seven of the receivers on the final 53-man roster.  However there should be a six-man race for those last couple of spots.

It all starts and ends with Larry Fitzgerald.  He lead the NFL in receptions with 107 last year.  He thought about retirement after the season after taking a beating but he decided to come back for at least one more season.

John Brown appears to be healthy and ready to go.  There are still questions about Jaron Brown and his availability but don’t expect much for a little while from him.  He is coming off the torn ACL suffered last October.

J.J. Nelson seems like a sure bet to make the roster.  After them however, cases can be made for guys like Jeremy Ross, Aaron Dobson, Larry Clark, Brittan Golden, Chris Hubert, and Marquis Bundy.

Roster predictions:

Starters: Fitzgerald, John Brown

Backups: Nelson, Dobson, Ross, Golden

Practice squad possibility: Krishawn Hogan, Carlton Agudosi

Hubert was a camp surprise last year.  Bundy had a little off the field trouble in the offseason. Both may be just biding their time.

If Jaron Brown returns healthy early on in the season, then one of the backups will be moved.  This is the competition that I look forward to the most in training camp.
