Arizona Cardinals skill players odds for various statistics for the 2017 regular season

When the 2017 season opens most Arizona Cardinals fans expect the team to perform better than they did in 2016.  Some expect them to match or exceed what they were able to accomplish in 2015.

Bovada Las Vegas released their odds on certain statistics for the 2017 season.  They were all skill position statistics.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and running back David Johnson all will find themselves listed in Bovada’s odds.  In the case of Palmer and Fitz, the odds are a little greater for their statistics.  They are high on David Johnson however.

Johnson has 10/1 odds of having the must rushing yards in the NFL.  It’s not a bad bet to place but the odds are he won’t lead the league in rushing because of ability to be a huge factor in the passing game as well.

Better odds are with the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Levon Bell at 3/1 and Dallas Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliot at 7/2.  My money would be with Bell.  There is uncertainty around Elliot once again and he also can be versatile like Johnson.

As for the passing game, Palmer has 40/1 odds that he will have the most passing yards in the NFL.  With a running game like the Cardinals, that is not a huge shocker.  New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is 3/1 and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is 6/1 in that category.

Now, who will lead the league in touchdown passes?  Palmer is down as 33/1 odds.  Brady has the best odds at 4/1.  Again, not much of a shocker there.  Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has 17/4 odds that he will have the most touchdowns passes.  He’s another good bet.

How about interceptions though?  Did Palmer make this list?  He did not.  Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has 9/2 odds he will lead this category.  Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston all have 6/1 odds there.

Palmer should be considered part of the field in that category.  The field is 5/1.  Palmer likely won’t lead this category.

As for Fitz, he was listed in most receiving yards odds for the 2017 regular season.  He was listed at 66/1.  Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones along with Steelers receiver Antonio Brown were listed at 4/1 odds to lead this category.  Fitz did lead the NFL in receptions last season.
