Arizona Cardinals: Only thing constant is change

The Arizona Cardinals made a few more roster moves on Thursday, five days into training camp

If there is anything you will take away from the Arizona Cardinals this training camp and preseason is that the roster will constantly change.  With 90 players on the roster, there are plenty of others lined up for their chance if something doesn’t fit or goes wrong.

The Cardinals made some more roster moves on Thursday.  First, they waived tight end Steven Roblewski and re-signed tight end Gerald Christian.

Christian almost made the team two years ago after being the last man drafted.  He had a great camp only to get injured right before the end of the preseason in 2015.

He didn’t make the cut last year but here he is back in uniform for the Cardinals again.  Hopefully he can re-gain some of what he showed in 2015.

The Cardinals also released cornerback Jumel Rolle and linebacker Tevin Floyd.  Both received injury settlements.

Neither player was around long.  Rolle was with the Cardinals longer than Floyd.

Rolle was signed by the Cardinals back on May 9th.  However Floyd was just signed this past Saturday.

This time of year every team is trying to better themselves on a daily basis.  Some guys will be waived for performance and if you are low on the depth chart and you get injured, it’s going to be next man up most of the time unfortunately.

So now that Christian is back on the roster, he immediately becomes one of the players to watch closely.  He can push guys like Ifeanyi Momah and Hakeem Valles.

What’s good today isn’t necessarily going to be good tomorrow.  It’s all about finding the best 53-players come regular season.

There is still plenty of time to figure all of that out.  The team will practice Friday through Monday before heading off to Canton, Ohio next week.  Saturday’s practice will be the annual Red-White scrimmage at University of Phoenix Stadium.
