Beanie Wells got what he wanted.  The running back got his release by the Arizona Cardinals.  Thanks to his post-game comments for fumbling and subsequently being benched during the Chicago Bears game back in December, Wells now can live out his dream of auditioning for the other 31 NFL teams.  That’s what he said he was going to do.  Now he’s free to do it after four injury-plagued seasons in Arizona.

When the New York Giants release running back Ahmad Bradshaw several days ago, immediately I thought of how the Arizona Cardinals could get him in here for a workout in March when free agency starts.  With the uncertain status of current Cards running back Beanie Wells, Bradshaw should be worth at least a conversation or two.  Wells, who missed half of the 2012 season and only rushed for 234 yards on 88 carries, has spent his entire short career injured off and on.  Bradshaw too has had his injuries, however has been way more productive than Wells when he does play.

From the not-so-shocking-news of the day, Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells was injured enough to warrant a trip to the Injured Reserve with the designation of returning.  It will be the Cards one and only player that can be designated to do so.  He is out until at least November 25th, a home game against the St. Louis Rams.  However, don’t stop me when I say I told you so when eventually a injury would be sever enough to miss this amount of time when it comes to Wells.  It’s what he’s known for.
