Sam Acho, remember the name.  Acho, came on strong in his rookie season of 2011.  He started the season slow, only getting one tackle in the first five games.  However, isn’t always about how you finish?  He finished strong.  He ended the 2011 season with 40 tackles and seven sacks.  Not bad for a player who did close to nothing until the Pittsburgh Steelers game in October.  He is an up and coming linebacker who should solidify the position for years to come.

Last season we almost experienced our first test of the new overtime rules implemented for the playoffs only when the Denver Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers.  However, Tim Tebow made sure we wouldn’t see the new rules take effect thanks to a touchdown on the first drive of the overtime.  Now, there is a greater chance we will see the new OT rules in place as now the rules have been expanded into the regular season.

Until today, all but one of the Arizona Cardinals free-agent signings have been their own guys.  Only offensive lineman Adam Snyder from the San Francisco 49′ers had been signed from outside the organization.  Today, the Cards finally added another from the outside.  William Gay, cornerback formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, signed a two-year contract according to Darren Urban on azcardinals.com.  It is a move to fill a need, after the departure of Richard Marshall last week.
