4. Tyrann Mathieu

Safety Tyrann Mathieu was lost for the season on December 20th against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a torn ACL.  However up until that point, Matheiu was playing out of his mind.

‘Honey Badger’ had five interceptions, tied for the team lead, to go with 17 passes defensed, also a team-high.  He was second on the team with 80 tackles, only behind Deone Bucannon’s 90 tackles.  remember Bucannon played in 16 games, Mathieu just 14.

For good measure, Mathieu had a forced fumble and a sack as well.  One of his five interceptions for touchdown came against the San Francisco 49ers in week three of the season.

The torn ACL for Mathieu was his second of his short career so far.  In December 2013, he tore an ACL on his other leg.  He was able to return for the 2014 season but it took about two-thirds of the season for him to get back full-time.  Only time will tell how long before we see him again.  What a season though.
