Kerwynn Williams

He had a nice preseason after filling in nicely at the end of the 2014 season.  He was what the doctor ordered last December when Ellington was lost for the season.  So then how does he not make the initial 53-man roster?  Easy, too much depth.

However Williams eventually got his shot to shine again in 2015 after the Cardinals depth was tested with injuries. He was on the active roster for six games in 2015.  His lone touchdown came against the St. Louis Rams but it was a big 35-yard run that helped the Cardinals put the Rams away that day.

As for what 2016 may hold, that is a great question.  He will certainly go into training camp on the roster but what his future holds for September and beyond remains to be seen.  For Williams, alot will be known once the status of Chris Johnson is known.  The Cardinals also re-signed Marion Grice to a futures contract, so Williams could be pushed from that end as well.

I do know this, if Williams is not on the Cardinals roster in 2016, he will be with someone.  Williams is a guy that most NFL teams could use for depth purposes.  He will likely never be a full-time back but his running abilities are too good to ignore.
