Yes, the Cardinals do have their own free agents to decide on as well. Their top priority on that group of players should be Stanton. Having Stanton as a backup is certainly reassuring. Stanton won’t blow you away but he is very serviceable as a backup.

Stanton is 31 so age is not a factor here. He knows the Cardinals system. No better guy to keep around. If Stanton does bolt Arizona, it will be for more money and a better chance at starting. If Stanton does end up bolting, I would not be surprised to see the Cardinals shoot for Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is slightly older than Stanton.

If for nothing else, Stanton is quite the cheerleader. He is a personality this team needs, so hopefully he ends up right back with the Cardinals in 2016.
