Arizona Cardinals: Top 10 plays of the year
By Scott Allen
1. Larry Fitzgerald’s 75-yard catch and run against the Green Bay Packers
Scrolling through plays over the course of the season I was only going to put in regular-season plays but then thought the playoffs count too. How could this play be ignored? It might have been the play of the year in the NFL, maybe the play of the century for the Cardinals.
Fitzgerald has made a lot of huge plays for the Cardinals over his 12 seasons in Arizona. However none were bigger than the catch Fitz made from across the field from Carson Palmer standing alone. Fitz had come back to the ball and took the ball 75 yards before being caught by the tip of his toes.
The play left Fitz five yards shy of the end zone. Two plays later Fitz caught a shovel pass from Palmer and the Cardinals catapulted themselves into the NFC Championship Game.
