San Francisco 49ers

After Cleveland, the next team possibly on the market for a quarterback are the 49ers picking seventh. The one thing that could potentially stop Arizona’s NFC West rival from taking a quarterback is Chip Kelly’s fondness for mobile quarterbacks like Colin Kaepernick, who was considered a trade target for the Eagles this off season if Kelly was still the head coach. It was reported that Kaepernick wants out of the Bay Area and listed the Jets as his preferred destination. If Kelly indeed wants the former second round pick to run his offense and can convince him to stay, San Francisco may may look to do something else with their first round pick.

There is also a possibility that Chip Kelly will look to reunite with Sam Bradford who he traded for last off season. Bradford has stated that he was comfortable in Kelly’s spread offense and it made no sense for the Eagles to fire Kelly after he began to pick up the system. There has been talks that Blaine Gabbert is a candidate to take over the 49ers starting job full time. Gabbert started eight games in 2015.
