D.J. Swearinger, safety

Swearinger played in four games for the Cardinals in 2015.  He started one of those games.  Swearinger is smaller than Jefferson but is a hard hitter and gives full effort.

It would be surprising to see the Cardinals at least not try to get him to return.  However money talks.  The low tender offer of $1.67 million can be matched but the big question is will they want to?

In his short stint with the Cardinals in 2015, Swearinger had seven tackles and one forced fumble.  My gut says the Cardinals will make an appearance as if they are trying to keep him but in the end I think he moves on to another team.

There is no doubt he provides good depth on the bench but his size does play a factor.  He stands at 5-10.  There are a number of similar style players available in free agency that are taller but may cost a bit more.
