The Cardinals are picking in the beginning of the 3rd round, is that good or bad? Well considering that the Cardinals switched in the first two picks for two pro-bowlers is very attractive to fans. If the Cardinals did such a trade, you could see the Cardinals picking someone almost unknown, or someone who has slid for obvious or unknown reasons.
I took the task of picking an unknown commodity, a young man who has height, 5-11, and length, 30 1/2 arm length. He ran a 4.47 40 yard dash, could be seen as a dark horse, playing into maybe a bigger role left by Jerraud Powers in the slot. Justin Bethel no doubt has to develop his traits, as does Ryan, so maybe a young corner coming for his job is what he needs. Competition is a desirable asset for a team, with a boost of confidence.
If Ryan Smith were able to overthrow Justin Bethel, the Cardinals would be able to move on from Justin Bethel, especially his contract maybe being in the way of other players looking for contract extensions (Muhammad Wilkerson or Chandler Jones). Ryan Smith doesn’t have the added pressure to start immediately, he has a chance to develop into something special for the Cardinals.

He has special teams potential, could be a dynamic force there to help Justin Bethel to focus his energy on defense instead of special teams. Ryan also seems like a solid tackler from the film I’ve seen, and the limited exposure from YouTube.com. He plays very fast for being an FCS athlete, fights for the ball at the high point, and seems fast enough on film. Does that translate to the NFL? We will have to see.
. CB. North Carolina Central. Ryan Smith. 64. player. 54
