Jake Coker will win the third quarterback position

When the Cardinals chose not to draft a quarterback in the 2016 NFL Draft, many lauded that decision as they didn’t want to see the Cardinals stretch for a guy who could end up being a project. When the draft was over however, it was easier to find those project guys and see what they could do with little risk.

They may have found that guy in Jake Coker out of Alabama.  Most believe Coker will come in a compete with current third quarterback Matt Barkley.

Barkley was the third quarterback for the entire 2015 season but was never active.  Coker could be that guy in 2016.

Give that Barkley still hasn’t completely won over the coaching staff in Arizona, you have to believe that Coker will be given his shot to show what he can do.  Will he be the 2016 version of Philip Sims?  Maybe.
