5. Evan Mathis

Mathis, drafted out of Alabama in 2005, enters his 12th NFL season.  He is a guard with a lot of experience and a lot of talent.  The trick will be to see if he can stay healthy.

For now, he will begin training camp on the sidelines.  If and when he becomes healthy enough to get onto the field, he brings an immediate impact.

He likely will come off the bench at first but could work into a starting spot even before the season begins.  A lot will ride on his preseason activity.

He is coming off a Super Bowl victory with the Denver Broncos, so he has the experience of being there.  That should prove to be invaluable to the others on the offensive line.

Arizona is the sixth NFL team Mathis will have played for.  It is amazing a guy of his talent and ability jumps around so much.  At this point though with the young guys on the line, Mathis will help whether he is on the field or off it.
