Arizona Cardinals: Top 10 plays of 2016
By Scott Allen
1. J.J Nelson touchdown reception vs. Washington Redskins
Nelson may have had a longer reception week 16 against the Seahawks for 80-yards, however this touchdown reception was perfectly executed. It was also responsible for the Cardinals keeping themselves in the playoff race for another week.
Palmer threw a beauty of a 42-yard strike to Nelson in the fourth quarter of this matchup of former NFC East rivals. The score put the Cardinals up 31-23 with just over four minutes remaining. The score held up until the end.
Palmer couldn’t have placed the ball any better into Nelson’s hands in the end zone. He threw it between two Redskins defenders and the only one to touch it was Nelson as he was falling to the ground.
It was a pass that left us wondering where that connection had been all season but a reminder the Cardinals offense still had the ability to make such plays. Nelson ended up with six receiving touchdowns on the season.
