Arizona Cardinals: Top 10 plays of 2016
By Scott Allen
4. Calais Campbell fumble return for touchdown vs. New Orleans Saints
Whether he returns to the Cardinals next season or not remains to be seen. However if defensive tackle Campbell keeps playing like he did over the last month or so of the 2016 season, it will be hard not to pay the man.
In the loss to the Saints, Campbell had a career-first. He scored a touchdown. Amazingly in his ninth NFL season he had never scored a defensive touchdown.
He has come close a couple of times but this time he was able to scoop up a Saints fumble and take it 53-yards to the house. It was part of a huge day for Campbell. He also had two sacks in the game.
It would be a shame to see him move on but with his performance in 2016, someone will throw a lot of money at him. The Cardinals will likely get outbid for his services but don’t count out Campbell taking a Cardinals offer.
