Best airlines for direct flights: American, United, Southwest

Places to stay: Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, Aloft Santa Clara, Avatar Hotel

Places to eat: Butter & Zeus, Original Gravity Public House, Original Joe’s

2016 average price for ticket: $117 (5th highest in the NFL)

An alternative to flying into San Francisco is Oakland across the bay.  It could provide a cheaper option than directly into San Francisco International.

The biggest issue with this road trip is having to take the 31-mile trip from San Francisco or 33-mile trip from Oakland to the stadium.  Levi’s Stadium is in Santa Clara.

Of course there is a lot to do in the bay area.  Museums, Fisherman’s Wharf, and many other sporting events are just some of the options to take in on your visit.

As far as opponents go, this is not the most exciting road trip.  However it is the closest and one with quite a number of options for hotels, food, and entertainment.
