Kerwynn Williams

There is no denying the talent Williams posses as a runner.  The Cardinals have had him on and off the roster a number of times since 2014.

He can run and find holes when needed the most.  The big issue with Williams is because he is a backup, he needs to continue to contribute on special teams.

On more than one occasion in 2016, Williams missed blocks on special teams.  He cost the Cardinals a blocked punt on a missed assignment in week 17 against the Rams.

Unfortunately for Williams that is one of the last memories Cardinals fans will have of him from 2017.  Is it enough to consider him in danger of not making the team in 2017?  Well, as much as he’s been in and out of Arizona lately, I would put nothing past them.

Williams could end up with a larger role in 2017 if the Cardinals don’t draft a running back and do not re-sign Andre Ellington, a free agent.  The Utah State alum though needs to show more versatility if he wants to be in Arizona in September and beyond.
