Rasul Douglas has the length and talent to be a successful NFL cornerback

Based solely on looks, Rasul Douglas is soon to be a star at the professional level. At a chiseled 6’2″ with long arms, he has the size NFL teams covet. The Cardinals have several free agents in the secondary, so Douglas could be on their radar.

Aside from his build, Douglas has terrific production to point to. He made a ton of plays during the 2016 season, including eight interceptions. He could excel in press coverage, while his length and speed will allow him to play well enough in off coverage as well. Closing isn’t an issue, as evidenced by the number of interceptions and passes defensed he had.

Teams can use Douglas’ aggressiveness against him, especially with double moves and straight-line speed. He’s also not a great tackler in the run game, especially considering his size.

With the potential losses in the secondary, it seems sure that the Cardinals will take a cornerback sometime in the first three rounds of the draft. Douglas is tremendously talented, and has the look of a top flight corner. There might be some growing pains along the way, but he has a very high upside.
