Joe Williams might have blazed his way onto an NFL roster today

One more running back who had a good Friday was former Utah running back Joe Williams. The Cardinals love players who can run, especially for the offense. Williams certainly makes sense under that qualification.

Williams has an interesting back-story. He was suspended for a full season, then, after going to Utah, decided to retire. Eventually, he returned and ran for over 1,400 yards, playing his way into a combine invite. His off-the-field concerns might be the only thing holding him back from a nice NFL career.

At 5’11” and 210 pounds, Williams has nice size, and he showed off his speed at the Combine. He was the second faster running back in the 40 yard dash at 4.41 seconds. His 35 inch vertical leap, and 10’5″ broad jump were also nice. His off-field concerns are real, and he still may not be drafted at all, but he made his case.
