Linebacker Sio Moore

Like D.J. Swearinger and A.Q. Shipley, linebacker Sio Moore made a few stops before joining the Cardinals. Selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft, Moore spent two seasons with the Silver and Black, before he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts in 2015. After the Colts cut Moore in October of 2016, he had a cup of coffee with the Kansas City Chiefs before joining the Cardinals in November of 2016.

Moore was called upon to start after the Cardinals placed hybrid linebacker Deone Bucannon on injured reserve in December – and he delivered. In three starts, Moore recorded 32 combined tackles and forced two fumbles.

If Kevin Minter departs in free agency, Moore could be a reasonably-priced veteran option to pair with Bucannon in 2017. Furthermore, Moore’s combine numbers suggest that he is more athletic than Minter. Altogether, the Cardinals may decide that they are better off signing Moore for less than Minter, and using the cap space at a position that is more difficult to fill.

Likelihood of returning: 60 percent
