Phil Dawson was brought in to replace Chandler Catanzaro and provide consistency

The 42 year old Phil Dawson, we all know him as the old kicker who played for the 49ers. Well now he is the old kicker that plays for the Arizona Cardinals, and that is something you should be happy about. Dawson will provide a sense of consistency, posting a career field goal percentage of 84.5 percent, which is over a period of 18 years.

Something Phil dawson will help with that the Cardinals struggled mightily with in 2016 is completing the extra point and field goals. Catanzaro missed 7 field goals and 4 extra points in 2016, Dawson? he missed 3 field goals and 1 extra point. On 34 attempts.

Dawson who also played in Cleveland when Bruce Arians was the offensive coordinator will definitely help Arians be more comfortable when a kick is going to decide a game or not. This was a great signing and the fans should be excited about this acquisition.
