Leonard Fournette is a devastating runner who will make a running game better

The Cardinals need to add talented players to the roster. Free agency has robbed them of some tremendous players, and in order to compete with teams like the Seattle Seahawks, they’ll need to replace it. There aren’t many players in this draft more talented than Leonard Fournette.

The Cardinals had to have current running back David Johnson carry the load in 2016. He was effective as a volume runner. He was seventh in the NFL in rushing yards, with 1,239, and led the league in total yards, with 2,118. He was also tops in the league with 20 touchdowns. However, he only averaged 4.2 yards per carry, and he didn’t break 100 yards rushing after week 10, and he suffered an injury in week 17.

Fournette is a power runner with the top-end speed to make the big play. He is equally effective using his speed to make plays and using his power to run over anybody in his way. His ability to pound the ball will ultimately make it much easier on David Johnson and the offense.
