Week 1 – Sunday September 10th

@ Detroit Lions

Two years ago the Cardinals went into Detroit and handled the Lions easily.  Quarterback Carson Palmer was done by the time the fourth quarter came around.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was also done early but for different reasons.  His team was out of it by halftime.

This upcoming season believe it or not will mark the third time since the Cardinals moved to Arizona that they will open the season in Detroit.  Seems odd but it is true.

The Cardinals opened the 1989 season in the Pontiac Silverdome with a 16-13 victory.  They also opened the 2003 season at Ford Field with a 42-24 loss.  That was also receiver Anquan Boldin’s first career-game.  He only had 217-yards receiving and two touchdowns that day.

Another receiver, Chad Williams, will make his pro debut in Detroit.  Does he have a big day?  I wouldn’t rule it out.

Prediction: Arizona 29 Detroit 16
