4. Oakland Raiders at Cardinals, Saturday August 12th

For the second consecutive season, the Cardinals will open their home preseason schedule with the Raiders.  Last season the Raiders came into Glendale and handled the Cardinals easily in preseason week one 31-10.

In the end the result was fairly close to how the teams ended their 2016 regular season’s.  Of course that in no way means one had anything to do with the other then or now.

You’ll likely see the Raiders and Cardinals starters for all of a couple of series at most.  For the Cardinals, the offense may only be out on the field for one series if they are effective enough.

As always, it is about getting a look at players who are trying to make the final 53-man roster.  Week one of the preseason is all about that.

Even though the Cardinals will have a game under their belt by this time thanks to their Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio the week prior, still don’t look for a lot of action from the Cardinals players from either side of the ball.
