Family Man

Several times throughout his speech he recognized his family.  He made sure that he made mention of his seven children and his wife Brenda.

Brenda was his presenter.  He said he couldn’t of thought of a better individual to introduce him. His family stood beside him all of those years as he chased his dream.

Besides his father, he also mentioned his mother.  His words brought her to near tears as he explained how great and how supportive she was throughout the years leading up to this point.

As great a football player Warner was, he is an even better person.  On the field his work family, he put them first.  Off the field, his own family, they came before anything else.

He mentioned the word character a few times throughout his speech.  If there is one way to describe Warner, it would be a man of good character.

It is not necessarily rare to have men of good character off the field and great performers on it but Warner’s picture should be next to any definition of good character.

All of those nights bagging groceries to take care of his family, all the while still not giving up on his dream of playing in the NFL.  As he said he tells his children, “seize your moments”.

For 12 NFL seasons, Warner did just that.  Now, he receives the ultimate recognition for his sacrifices.
