at Detroit Lions
The closer this game got the more interesting it looks on paper. Just last week Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford got paid and big. He became the highest paid quarterback in the game.
Does that make a difference what happens on the field? No, but it certainly will increase the scrutiny that he will be under to perform well.
If things go south like they did a couple of years ago when the Cardinals went into Detroit and whipper the Lions 42-17, a game which saw Stafford get pulled early, then you know the boo birds will be out.
This game likely does not go that way. Although the Lions have struggled in recent years to beat the Cardinals, as they have defeated the Lions seven straight times, it is a new season. The last Lions victory over the Cardinals was in 2005 at Ford Field.
Look for both teams to come out fired up. The Cardinals stars will be as healthy as they will be all season. With a well rested David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, having sat most of the preseason, they should be on their ‘A’ game.
