Chandler Jones

You can’t miss sacks in this league, period.  The Cardinals paid Jones a lot of money to get sacks. One of the reasons the Cardinals felt like they could let Calais Campbell walk instead, lack of sack production.

Campbell spent the last several years missing a lot of sacks.  He must have lead the league in almost sacks.  Ironically he had four sacks last Sunday in his debut for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jones looked like early on against the Lions he was going to be dominant.  However, despite his one sack, which was really a coverage sack more than anything, Jones needs to make the most of his opportunities.

Not saying the extra sacks that he missed on Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford would have changed the outcome of the game but when you need every play to count in a close game late, plays need to be made.

Jones is the Cardinals money man on defense, at least in the middle and upfront.  Markus Golden is great too but Jones is the guy getting paid super bucks.  Fair or not, the Cardinals are betting on Jones getting the job done.
