Key injuries

As usual both teams are up to their necks in injury news.  We know quarterback Drew Stanton won’t start but he isn’t ruled out.  He is questionable.  Right now it looks like he could back up Gabbert if need be.

The Cardinals have three other players who are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.  They include receiver John Brown, center A.Q. Shipley, and tackle John Wetzel.  The Cardinals could really use all three on Sunday.

The Texans have already ruled three players out with four others questionable.  Linebacker Dylan Cole, tackle Julien Davenport, and receiver Will Fuller IV are all out.  Fuller will be a huge missing offensive weapon for Houston.

Running back Alfred Blue, defensive end Joel Heath, center Greg Mancz, and receiver Chris Thompson are all questionable.  Only Heath practiced on Friday amongst that group.

Prediction

Most have already stuck a fork in the Cardinals.  As for the Texans, many still believe they can win despite the numerous injuries.  The x-factor here will be Gabbert.

How well will he play?  A lot of Cardinals fans believe he will shine.  That is all based on preseason though.  That is not a good barometer.

We all would love nothing more than to see Gabbert take it to the Texans and show everyone he can be a possible option for the future of the quarterback position in Arizona.

It is hard to gauge how things will go in this one.  This will be a complete guess but given the game is in Houston and this is Gabbert’s first time on the field this season, the edge should be given to the Texans.
