Jared Veldheer

When he was lost for the season back in 2016 with a tricep injury, not much thought was given to the idea he wouldn’t be around for 2017.  He did come back during training camp but almost left football for good.

He left camp for a couple of days to reportedly ponder retirement.  Some thought it was because he lost his left tackle job to D.J. Humphries.

In the end, Veldheer did return and played right tackle.  Then Humphries went down but he stayed at right tackle with the thinking Humphries was not going to be out long.

Veldheer struggled a lot of the time at right tackle.  He stayed there though until Humphries returned and subsequently was lost for the season.  Veldheer moved back to left tackle.

Then Veldheer got injured, again.  For the second consecutive season he was placed on injured reserve.  That may be the last you see of him in a Cardinals uniform.
