Baker Mayfield
He is probably the most intriguing option for the Cardinals coming out in the draft. While Mayfield won the Heisman Trophy, there are still mixed evaluations on how his game will translate to the NFL.
He won’t drop out of the first round or anything ridiculous like that. However the Cardinals could get away with not having to trade up to get him.
Currently the Cardinals are scheduled to pick 15th in the first round. Many believe that Mayfield is more of a middle first rounder come April. Sure opinions can change between now and then but that’s how it looks right now.
Mayfield is a competitor. He could get selected 15th by the Cardinals in addition to the Cardinals bringing in a veteran quarterback that could help mentor him for a year or so.
There is potential for Mayfield to start his rookie season but there will be some work to do. All that being said, someone could also come up and snatch him right before number 15 just like what happened last season with Deshaun Watson.
